Al Mada’s board of directors, meeting on Jan. 16, appointed Noufissa Kessar as chief executive officer, effective immediately.

Ms. Kessar built her career within Al Mada, first at the group’s banking arm before moving to the holding company as deputy general manager, where she played an active role in strategic projects and the group’s overall development.

Noufissa Kessar graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

She spent most of her career at Al Mada, beginning at Attijariwafa Bank where she helped establish Attijari Finances Corp, before moving to the holding company.

Noufissa Kessar also sits on the boards of several Al Mada subsidiaries.

The appointment follows the passing of Hassan Ouriagli, a discreet yet influential figure regarded as one of the architects of SNI’s transformation — now Al Mada — into a pan‑African private equity player.

The board paid tribute to him for his leadership, achievements and dedication, stressing that his commitment left a lasting mark on Al Mada’s history and helped shape its strategic role in the Moroccan and African economy.
